3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp nutmeg 1 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg 2 tsp vanilla 2 tsp rum flavoring Frosting 3 tbsp butter, softened 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 tsp spiced rum 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar 2-3 tbsp milk |

Preheat oven to 350˚ F. In a medium bowl, combine dry ingdredients. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and rum flavoring and beat to combine. Add dry ingredients a cup at a time, beating to combine after each addition. On a floured surface, roll the dough into 1/2 inch thick rolls. Cut into 3 inch lengths. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on wire racks. Frost. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Frosting Cream butter. Add vanilla and rum and beat to combine. Alternately beat in powdered sugar and milk until the frosting reaches spreadable consistency. |
